Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure

In our effort to further increase the speed, accuracy and consistency of our leaf level insights, we have upgraded our artificial intelligence infrastructure. We have added a separate simulation environment that enables us to test different AI algorithms more quickly and efficiently and identify the optimal AI algorithms for our different SmartScout Insights; all this, without impacting the service/product that our customers currently are enjoying.

Taranis CONNECT Performance

Given the increased usage of Taranis CONNECT that we are experiencing among our customer base and given that we are continuing to add more and more Insights that are viewable via CONNECT (the latest one being the Field Health Insight), we have made changes to our backend infrastructure. We can now enable a higher number of users consuming more and more SmartScout Insights via CONNECT. The latest changes enable us to be smart about setting priorities for the data flow based on priority and urgency of the action taken by the user. This way, data that can be provided over time to the mobile phone will have a lower priority than data that the user is currently awaiting in order to complete an action. As a result, we can ensure that Taranis CONNECT stays fast, smooth, and slick for those actions that require immediate response while providing a different set of data at a different timeline for other scenarios (e.g. offline).

Increased Field Coverage

In order to increase the number of leaf level image samples we capture from the field and therefore the coverage of the field, we are getting ready to include images taken at an angle into the flight plan. These types of images will enable us to capture more acres of the field without adding significant time to the duration that the drone is in the air. In this release, we have added the capability to better associate the GPS coordinate of the location of the drone with the image taken at an angle. As a result, we will be able to map those images to an exact location in the field to even further increase the accuracy of our SmartScout Insights.

Field Health Availability in Map Layers

Field Health insights are now available in the Map Layers view. This will allow you to choose the field health layer in the Remote Scouting section and overlay a SmartScout image on top to correlate the NDVI gap with Sm‎artScout's high-resolution findings.  Another benefit is the ability to compare two insights in the compare mode in the layers view. This allows you to compare field health insight with either another field health insight, any other SmartScout insight, or any other available layer, in order to correlate field health with SmartScout. Simply go to the layers section and it can be found under Insights.

Premium Satellite September Subscription

Premium Satellite plans can be created now with different time frames (September - August instead of January - December). With this capability, clients from the southern hemisphere will be able to get premium satellite imagery according to their growing season. Every field assigned to the new subscription plan will also get historical imagery dating one year back.

BUG FIXES

Remote Scouting

when changing the dates, the results of the insights did not update accordingly. This was fixed and now the insights images are updated and presented according to the date selected.
when opening defoliation images, the tags were colored purple, which did not stand out enough in some cases over the green crop color. This was changed and now the tags are colored red, which stand out over the crop.

Field Health Insight

fixed inconsistency between the dates presented in the insight list and each insight separately - now all dates match.

Sneak Preview

Enhanced Data Privacy for Climate Fieldview Integration

In order to better protect the privacy of our customers’ data, we are making improvements to our integration with Climate FieldView. Growers will be able to more easily determine which fields’ data to share with Climate Fieldview and update that list on a continuous basis if necessary.
Users will simply choose to connect with ClimateFieldView on the user settings page and a fields selection window will open to choose the fields they would like to sync with FieldView.
Once chosen, users will then be redirected to the Climate FieldView login page to complete the process. At any given time, users will be able to update the selected fields by refreshing the connection on the user settings page.

Field Health - Change in NDVI Average

We are changing the field NDVI data we are presenting in the field health insight from being the latest layer’s average NDVI to be the difference between the two compared layers.
