January 2023 - Taranis Release News

Starred

The newly released functionality saves users navigation time and optimizes the time-to-information access. The Starred functionality allows users to save pages in the web application, adding notes and labels for further context. The starred pages can be viewed in a list format and filtered by type as well as a search option for specific names, labels and notes.

Starred is especially useful for web application pages with filters such as the Dashboard and Field Timeline or accessing a specific part of the site that might require several navigational steps. It allows saving most of the web application pages, including insight pages, multi-insight pages, Dashboard and Field Timeline.

You can find more information on the Starred functionality here.

Additional Enhancements

Field Timeline Enhancements

The Field Timeline has been enhanced with a new look and feel, including insights display with rounded square design that are aligned with the design in the Dashboard, as well as the following:
  • “More information” section on the left sidebar, containing:
    • Planting data tab
    • Insight tab with the option to navigate between the insights
    • Option to display a text on the insight bubbles
    • Insight legend (to be released soon)
  • Interactive map - both the map and the histogram were added to the insight right sidebar
  • “Missions” view - an additional “Season View” option which is now the default view when opening the Field Timeline. In the “Missions” view the user is shown only the timeframe of the missions in the season with a  date range from planting to -> last mission. Users can now change the view using the right side +/- buttons
  • Missions’ date - the drone icons now show more information about past and upcoming missions (in the next sprint we will remove the dates above the “Future” missions)
  • Y axis for “Temperature” and “Precipitations” - changed to bar chart type

Area of Operation Enhancements

Area of Operation (AOO) auto-assignment is now used when a field is added to a plan. MapAtlas will automatically check for any existing AOOs in the area and assign the field accordingly. If there are no AOOs in the field’s location, the user will be notified and prompted to contact Taranis’ representative for further information as shown before:

In cases where multiple AOOs overlap, the system will assign the field to the one closest to its center. And as always, you can go to Mapatlas to manually adjust the AOO assignment for any mission.

Enhancements and Bug Fixes

  1. Menu tooltips: adding tooltips to each menu item, allowing users to see first what is the page and decide if to further navigate to it
  2. Dashboard cycle default view: the dashboard will show by default the latest cycle that includes insights, removing the need for user or the application to have a hardcoded cycle selection
  3. Warning icon: the warning icon for 'missing planting information was removed from the insight list
  4. Dashboard tooltips: as part of UI improvement, we changed the tooltips in the dashboard
  5. MapAtlas filters: users can now missions by grower name
  6. Mission Pop-Up: the mission number has been added to the mission pop-up
