March 2021 - Taranis Release News

Capitan (Taranis’ Flight Operation Software)

We added new functionality for drone operators, which enables better planning of their daily flight routine: by estimating the total time for driving and executing the drone missions.  Drone operators will be able to estimate if their daily plan is feasible, and in case it is not, re-plan the day.
By being able to plan the day, the chances of completing the drone missions are higher, and precious time is saved.

Atlas (Taranis’ Mission Management System)

We added 3 new capabilities in our mission management system:
  1. Prioritize - we added the capability of color coding missions according to the mission due dates.  The color coding should help the dispatcher to prioritize between missions and make sure the missions will be scheduled during the “flight window” determined by the Intelligent Flight Scheduling function.
  2. Aggregate - operators will be able to see all missions within a “flight window” / “schedule date” date range, in addition to a specific date.
  3. Filter - operators will be able to filter by “pass number” (the mission counter) allowing them to prioritize fields based on the pass number.

Field Information Management

Taranis’ Intelligent Flight Scheduling (IFS) is based on the crop growth stages, so it’s highly important to have a better way to manage the seasonal crop data. Operators will be able to save time on managing fields’ information more efficiently using the bulk editing capabilities. Operators can now update properties of all relevant fields’ in one-shot/bulk:
  1. Season (Cycle)
  2. Crop
  3. Planting date
  4. Planting population
  5. Row spacing
  6. Harvest date

Taranis in Brand New Colors

As of this week, see our new branding in Taranis's web app and emails, thus, completing the move to our new brand.

Planet Satellite Imagery - Quality Indication

In some cases,  Taranis receives satellite images that do not meet a variety of quality standards set out by Planet and Taranis. In those cases, we will present an attention icon on the thumbnail of the field together with the title “Quality”. By hovering over the text or icon, a tooltip with an explanation will appear as can be seen below.

Taranis CONNECT Mobile App Is Now available In Apple App Store and Google Play Store

The season has officially kicked-off, and now it’s much easier for agronomists to engage growers about in-season insights, with 3 simple steps :

  1. Downloading the app (and logging in)
  2. Setting up growers in the Taranis system and ensure they download the app
  3. As Insights are coming in, view them on the app and if relevant share with growers to discuss potential courses of action - online in the office or offline in the field.

With Taranis CONNECT SmartsScout insights - Emergence Count, Weeds, Insects defoliation, Nutrient Deficiencies, Disease and Field Health Change - are available all throughout the season on the go.

With Taranis SmartScout Insights, time is of the essence. No need to print out reports or wait for the emails to be opened.
Agronomists can now share insights directly with the grower, collaborate online about the appropriate course of action and get to a decision much faster.
Moreover - Agronomists can decide whether to have growers receive notifications on new SmartScout Insights automatically without their involvement - reducing even more the time it takes for acres serviced by Taranis turn into insights received by the grower.

New Insights Notification

Every day for which new insights are available - a notification will be received. Clicking it will take the user into the app, to see the new data

Insights page

The Insights page shows the results of SmartScout for all of the client’s fields in season, most recent data at the top. Insights are collected into clients, and sorted alphabetically, by name.
New insights which weren’t viewed yet will be marked as “unread”.
Notes indication will appear on tiles with additional information added (for example, a recommendation for actioning)
The agronomist can utilize the scores to quickly prioritize the insights, for urgent actioning.

A Sneak Preview

Taranis Web Application

We added an ability to download missions as a CSV file, listing all of the information related to the plan: Client name, farm name, field name, status of the mission, execution window, mission number. This capability will enable the customer to manage their missions on their own platform.

Taranis CONNECT

Our next release will introduce a faster performance for users logging into the app for the first time, as well as design and user experience improvements for our insight pages.
