Upload Field Boundaries - Improved

Access Field Management Tools
  1. Log in to your Taranis Account.

  1. Click Tools in the top navigation bar. 
  1. From the dropdown menu, select Field Plans and Growers


Review and Organize Existing Fields
  1. The screen displays all fields currently in your account. 

  1. Sort fields using available filters. 
    1. By Grower - View fields associated with a specific grower.
    2. By Farm - Group fields by their respective Farms. 
    3. By Field Status - Filter by valid and duplicate fields, invalid boundaries, and fields that are too small (less than 10 acres). 


Add and Upload New Fields
  1. Click the green Add Fields button.

  1. From the drop down menu, select Upload Fields












  1. Upload your files:
    1. Drag and drop boundary files or zipped files.
    2. Or, click Browse to select files from your computer. 

  1. The selected files will appear in the center box for review. 
  2. Multiple field boundaries can be uploaded at once. 
  3. Click the green Upload button to complete the process. 

Assign Field Attributes and Save

  1. Once field boundaries are loaded, the system will extract attributes from the shapefile.
  2. Use the dropdown menus to assign the correct attribute for:
    1. Grower Name
    2. Farm Name
    3. Field Name
  1. Files that contain multiple fields:
    1. Click Apply to All to use the selected column headings for all boundaries.
  2. Confirm the correct attribute assignments.
  3. Click the Save button to finalize the field import.

  1. It may take a few moments for field boundaries to process.  

Review and Resolve any Errors

  1. Common issues include:
    1. Duplicate fields – A field with the same boundary already exists.
    2. Invalid boundaries – The system cannot process the field shape.
    3. Field too small – The field does not meet the minimum size requirements. (less than 10 acres)
  1. If a duplicate field is detected, it will be highlighted in red.
  2. Click on the error to resolve.

  1. Keep the existing field (discard the newly uploaded version).
  2. Or, keep both fields (add the new version alongside the existing one).
  3. From here, you cannot  modify boundaries or Client, Farm, or Field Names. 
  1. Once the errors are resolved, select Continue

Finalize and Add Fields to Your Plan

  1. If no further edits are needed, select Goto Plans Page to add your fields to your Plan.
  2. Or, click Finish if you need to make changes to names or boundaries. 

  1. When selecting Finish, you will be redirected to the Fields tab.
  2. Here, necessary edits can be made.
